About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph presented here begins with a moment I personally experienced and captured. Every image is 100% photographed by me. There are no generated scenes and no substitute for being there with a camera.
Most of my photographs require relatively little manipulation. I use processing to refine light, tone, contrast, and mood, but the landscape, architecture, weather, and moment you see were there when I pressed the shutter.
My purpose is not to manufacture a world that didn't exist. It is to interpret the world that was in front of me—to recognize the extraordinary in a landscape, a historic place, or a fleeting moment and preserve what I saw and felt.
I think of the photographer as both an observer and an interpreter.
Nature and history provide the subject. Light reveals it. My job is to recognize the moment and make the photograph.
I am drawn to places where time seems to slow down—fog-covered landscapes, aging structures, forgotten roads and quiet remnants of another time. These photographs reflect not simply what I found, but what I felt standing there.
